First class day of Fall. The graduation application window for Spring 2026 opens through April 2. All graduating students must apply.

Window opens for defense announcement

Faculty can input G1 (defense announcement) under Thesis/Diss forms through April 6. The defense must be announced 10 days before the event. See /graduate-studies/forms/index.html

Time: 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM

DEADLINE for students to register for the mandatory Graduate Thesis/Dissertation Workshop.

The last day to register for the required thesis and dissertation workshop is January 30th.   /graduate-studies/students/theses-and-dissertations/thesis-dissertation-workshop.html

Participants can either attend the morning or the evening workshop.

Deadline for Defense/Oral Exam

Window opens for thesis/diss defenses February 9 through April 18. Faculty, please report results via G5 form immediately following the defense at Thesis/Diss forms /graduate-studies/forms/index.html.  Defense announcements must be made 10 days before event.

Deadline to Submit Final Draft of Thesis/Disseration to College of Graduate Studies

Deadline to Upload Approved Thesis/Dissertation to Proquest

Deadline for the signed diss/thesis document approved by Graduate Studies to be uploaded to ProQuest and the fee paid.

Commencement Ceremony - Graduating students should arrive one hour early
